How secure is Google Docs? I'm beginning to question this application. I use Google Docs to share spreadsheets with some board members of our EO chapter. A few days ago I logged into Google Docs to look at a few spreadsheets. Surprise! I'm now sharing an unfamiliar spreadsheet. This is the screen screen I got:
I have no idea who this is from. It could be a mistake someone made, or it could be malicious. The point is to watch out for this stuff. I'm going to e-mail the address to see if this is a legitimate person that may have made a mistake, or maybe worse - a new type of spam - document sharing spam.
Update: March 31st - It appears that this was an unintentional mistake that someone made. However, it does open up the possibility that someone who knows your gmail address can send you documents to "share" without your permissions. Can there be a wave of doc sharing spam out there?
